The whole process of sugar production is divided into 5 processes: Extraction process, clarification and evaporation process, sugar boiling process, molasses separation process, and packaging process. The clarified juice is obtained in the second process.
The clarification and evaporation process is to heat, neutralize (add sulfur dioxide + calcium oxide), precipitate, filter, and process the squeezed sugarcane juice to obtain clarified juice. The process removes sand, clay and other substances from the juice. After reheating, the clear juice enters the evaporation tank to evaporate, concentrates into syrup, and then goes to the sugar-boiling step.
As the clear juice loses some heat during storage and transportation, the clear juice temperature decreases. In order to improve evaporation efficiency and save steam, the clear juice must be heated. The heating temperature is generally controlled at about 125 ℃, and the clear juice is heated and sent to the multi-effect evaporation tank. The heat exchanger is an important equipment for heating the juice. The heat transfer effect of the plate heat exchanger for heating the sugar juice is more than double that of the tube type. Therefore, the heat transfer area of the plate type can be reduced by half of the tube type.
Propellent gasketed plate heat exchanger and free flow wide gap plate heat exchanger are specially developed for various solid, crystal, fiber, slurry and high-viscosity medium heat transfer conditions. In the sugar industry, it can be used as clear juice heater, waste molasses cooler, mixed juice/saccharification liquid/fermentation liquid heat exchanger.
