How to maintain the plate heat exchanger?

The plate heat exchanger is made up of a series of metal plates with a certain corrugated shape. In the daily use of the heat exchanger, in order to ensure the normal operation of the heat exchanger, regular maintenance is required.

The following Propellent introduces several methods for the maintenance of plate heat exchangers:

    1. Keep the equipment clean and well painted. The threaded part of the clamping bolt should be coated with anti-rust oil and covered to prevent rust and sticking dust.

    2. After the heat exchanger runs for a period of time, the surface of the plates will produce varying degrees of scale or deposits. This will reduce the heat transfer efficiency and increase the flow resistance. Therefore, the heat exchange equipment should be regularly disassembled for inspection and dirt removal according to the actual conditions such as water quality and temperature medium characteristics.

    3. Check whether the pressure gauge and temperature gauge are sensitive, whether the data is accurate, and there is no leakage of valves and flanges.

    4. Check whether the plates are damaged, and the damaged heat exchange plates need to be replaced in time.

    5. Regularly clean or replace the filter to avoid blockage of the heat exchanger due to water quality problems.

    6. When assembling the plate heat exchanger, the plates and gaskets should be kept clean, the plates should be placed neatly and flatly, and the plates should be assembled according to the product assembly drawing.

    7. When clamping the bolts, the studs should be tightened at the corners, the force is even, and the tightness is appropriate to prevent individual bolts from damaging the studs and plates due to excessive tightening.

    8. Check whether the sealing gasket is aging, and replace it if necessary.

    9. When the plate and the sealing gasket fall off, use a thinner to wash off the adhesive of the plate sealing groove. After cleaning, apply a suitable adhesive to the sealing groove and re-bond firmly.

    10. When the plate heat exchanger is stopped in winter, the medium inside the heat exchange equipment should be vented to prevent the equipment from being damaged by freezing.
