Propellent plate heat exchanger is a very efficient heat exchanger , and its application is very wide. The core components of plate heat exchanger are plates of plate heat exchanger and sealing rubber gaskets. The development level of the sealing rubber gasket directly determines the development level of the plate heat exchanger. Seal failure of plate heat exchanger is a very significant production failure. So what is the reason for the failure of the plate heat exchanger seal? Summarized as follows: there are mainly pressure effects, temperature effects and time effects.
1. Stress
For the leakage of the detachable plate heat exchanger in the rated working pressure,it is generally related to the abnormal impact load in the system, in addition to the quality factors .This situation is not easy for ordinary operators to check.
The instantaneous pressure peak caused by the impact is often about 2 times higher than the normal working pressure. It displaces the rubber gasket installed in the plate heat exchanger and makes the plate heat exchanger seal failure. Because the heat transfer element of this type of device is made of stainless steel sheet, its sealing rigidity is relatively poor, and the sealing periphery is very long, so the impact resistance performance is lower than that of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
2. Time
For equipment that has been used or left idle for several years, the self-aging of the sealing material may affect the reliability of the sealing.So the maintenance opportunity should be used to replace the new sealing gasket in time.
3.Temperature
Rapid changes in temperature may lead to seal failure. When the temperature changes rapidly, the linear expansion coefficient,elastic deformation of the rubber gasket and the sealing pre-tightening force will not match, so that the sealing pre-tightening force will be reduced. As a result, the pressure bearing capacity is much lower than the rated design pressure.
The above three factors are the most important reasons for seal failure. When the seal failure occurs, we should find out the reason as soon as possible ,and solve the problem to avoid unnecessary losses.
